Hi, I'm Robin Kleine. Welcome to my portfolio website! I will graduate in December 2012, with degrees in agricultural communications and journalism and animal sciences and industry from Kansas State University.
I grew up on a diversified grain and livestock farm in northwest Indiana. In addition to helping there and on our commercial hog operation, my younger brother Joe and I showed beef cattle across the country. After our first steers, Zeus, Cosmo, Peanut and Clifford, we were in love with the industry. Our interest grew and we then began our own business - RJ Show Cattle, and we now market a few select club calves each year.
Joe and I spent hours every month pouring over Show Circuit, Angus Journal, Shorthorn Country and numerous sale catalogs picking out the next "great one." The advertisements and articles always captivated me, and I soaked up the opportunity to learn as much as possible about the livestock industry. Once we got older, our parents saw our interest blossoming and let us make the decisions regarding the cattle – feeding, breeding, grooming, etc. (And all of our reading and subscriptions finally paid off!)
I knew at 14 years old that I was going to major in Agricultural Communications, and after a visit to K-State in 2005, I bled purple. K-State has a way of bringing you in and Manhattan leaves its' mark on you. Now, as my undergraduate career is winding down, I am thankful for all the opportunities K-State has given me and am ready for my next adventure.
My love for my family is unparalleled, but my love for livestock, agriculture and youth programs all follow closely. I'd love to leave my mark on the world by promoting the things I love.
